Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in state authorities re-issuing a more stringent directive regarding the cases.
